Kings of Kings women's season tips off

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The 2011 season of Kings of Kings women's basketball began Tuesday, with several local hoopsters getting in on the excitement.  Utica Select, who defeated CNY All-Stars 62-40, features Whitesboro's Francesca Cotrupe and Sarah Flint, Notre Dame's Jordan Morgan, Holland Patent's Allison Friermuth as well as Syracuse Orange stars Iasia Hemingway and Rachel Coffey.

Kiley Evans, from Cazenovia, led all scorers Tuesday, with 18 points, while Coffey had 13 and Hemingway and Flint added 12.

Earlier in the night, the Bomb Squad beat the Monstars 73-37.  SU's La'Shay Taft led the winners with 20 points, while Desiree Fauvelle from West Canada had 16.  Courtney Terzi from Little Falls and HCCC, Barrie Brooks from Proctor and Allison Dobrovic from Little Falls, added 10.
