Marauders hold off Indians


SAUQUOIT, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New York Mills girls basketball team held off a tough challenge from Sauquoit Valley Friday night, winning 56-46.  Domenique Talerico led the Lady Marauders with 22 points, though she was held to just five in the second half.

Free throw shooting was the difference, as Mills hit 19-32 from the charity stripe, while Sauquoit was just 9-17.  Both teams hit 17 field goals and one three pointer.

NY Mills (4-2) took a 29-20 lead at halftime, but Sauquoit (3-5) kept close in the final 16 minutes.  Brianne Cardillo led the Lady Indians with 16 points.
