SUNY BROCKPORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New Hartford Spartans, ranked number one in the state, skated past defending state champion Webster Thomas 3-1 on Saturday. Video highlights are courtesy of WROC in Rochester.

The Spartans trailed 1-0 in the first on a Matt Casilio goal. Dylan Smith and his defense would clamp down from there. He finished with 18 saves on day. The third period was where the Spartans offense game alive. Clayton Whittemore tied the game up at 2:57 in the third. About three minutes later, Tom Fiorentino scored what would be the game winner on an assist from Mike Zalewski. Zalewski would add another late goal for insurance.

At 26-2, the Spartans will face Kenmore East in the state semifinal on Saturday March 14th. Face off is set for 12:30pm at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
