Spartans skate past RFA, headed to section final

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New Hartford Spartans are headed back to the Section III Division II final with a 7-3 win over RFA on Wednesday. They will face Cazenovia who beat Skaneateles 2-0 on Wednesday.

The Spartans got the scoring started on a goal by Clayton Whittemore but RFA quickly tied it up just seconds later on a Robbie Waller goal. It was tied at one early in the second when the Spartans scored four unanswered goals. Dan Sheets, Alex Fukes, Chris Luker and Whittemore gave them a 5-1 lead and they never looked back. Spencer Landry was solid in goal with 30 saves. Whittemore had two goals and two assists. Luker also scored twice.

Waller finished with a goal and an assist for RFA who finished 11-7-2.
