By By JASON POWLES

CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Clinton Warriors have a new hockey coach for next season. Long-time Clinton Youth Hockey coach John Hughes will take over the reigns.

Coach Hughes is a Clinton graduate and former hockey player.  He was employed in a family business for 30 years and he has extensive hockey experience in the Clinton hockey youth area for over 16 years in various levels of youth development.

"I am very pleased that the Clinton board approved my recommendation of John Hughes as the head hockey coach for the Clinton Warriors." said Athletic Director Doug Fiore. "John brings experience working with the Clinton youth hockey leagues for the past decade and a half.  He knows and has experienced first hand our rich hockey tradition.  I firmly believe he will work well within our hockey community.  He has assembled an exceptional hockey staff to assure that our student athletes will have the opportunity to develop their skills and reach their maximum hockey potential."

Hughes replaces Jon Sonderman, who stepped down at the end of the season to spend more time with his family.
