H.S. Hockey: RFA blanks Corcoran, advances to semis
ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The RFA hockey team beat Corcoran 3-0 Friday night at Kennedy Arena in the Section III Division I quarterfinal round. Conor Miller saved ten shots in the Black Knight net, playing in place of the injured Andrew Ross.
Though a 3-0 shutout win seemed unlikely in the first half of the game, as it was scoreless after one, and RFA's first goal didn't come until the midway point of the second. And the goal, by Tyler Williams, was contested by Corcoran. However, after a few minutes of deliberation, the officials signaled that it was indeed a goal.
Justin Hussey and Mike Pekarski scored for the Black Knights in the third, as RFA advanced to the semis, where they'll meet Central Square.
