NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New Hartford boys lacrosse team had to fight until the end to beat RFA Saturday, but ultimately the Spartans held on for a 13-10 victory. New Hartford (4-4) took as much as a seven goal lead, but the Black Knights came back.
While New Hartford was led by Kevin Chapman and Nick Calogeri, who combined to score four goals each, RFA (5-4) stayed in the game thanks to Dylan Sbarglia and Randy Linderman, who each scored four goals.
Eric Fitzgerald also added a goal and three assists for New Hartford, while Nick Levanti scored twice and picked up an assist.
The Spartans led 7-2 at halftime, then scored four of the next five goals, to take an 11-4 lead in the third quarter. But RFA rallied to pull within three twice in the fourth quarter, including the final goal of the game, scored by Linderman with less than three minutes left.
