Clinton tops Mt Markham for third straight win


CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Clinton football team picked up their third straight win of the season Saturday, knocking off Class C East rival Mount Markham 26-20.  Brandon Broccoli threw one touchdown pass and ran for another for the Warriors, who improved to 3-1 on the season.

Mac Moquin got the scoring started in the first quarter for Clinton, getting in on a four yard TD run.  The Mustangs answered in the second quarter with Eric Taylor-Holmes, who scored on a 14 yard TD run.

The Warriors took the lead back on a 4 yard TD pass from Sam Olsen to Eddie Allen.  Mt Markham went back in front again on a one yard TD run by Mike Tanzillo, but Clinton answered with just over a minute left before halftime, as Broccoli found Will Jarrett for a five yard strike.

Broccoli ran in a touchdown in the third quarter to put the Warriors in control.  Clinton's will next visit Notre Dame, next Saturday.  Mount Markham (0-4) goes to Little Falls next Saturday.
