WKTV - Two local college socccer teams won national titles Sunday, as HCCC beat Montgomery 1-0 in the NJCAA Division III Men's Final and MVCC beat Gloucester 4-1 in the Women's Final.
HCCC Sophomore captain Craig McCabe scored the only goal of the men's game, with just over four minutes to go in the second overtime, as the Generals beat Montgomery to win their second straight title, ninth overall.
McCabe was named MVP of the national tournament, after scoring three goals in the last two games. In addition to his dramatic game winner Sunday, he also scored two of the team's three goals in the semifinals Friday. HCCC won back to back titles for the first time since 1999 and 2000.
At TC3 in Dryden, the MVCC women, who have 15 local players, won their first title since 2003.
