CHITTENANGO, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Sauquoit Valley girls soccer team is headed back to the Class C regionals for the third time in four years, after a 1-0 victory Wednesday over MPH in the Section III Class C overall final. The Indians already won the C-1 title Monday, but needed one more win to get to states.
Wednesday's game was a defensive struggle throughout, with few shot attemps in the first half. Kelly Brennan broke through with just over eighteen minutes go, scoring on a shot to the left corner of the MPH goal. Elisa Marchione had the assist for Sauquoit.
The Lady Indians now advance to the regionals, Saturday at 1 from Fulton, against Unatego from Section IV.
