Mt. Markham girls fall to Solvay

WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Lady Mustangs playoff run ended early on Tuesday in a 3-2 double overtime loss to Solvay.

It started off well for Mt. Markham as Ashleigh Butler gave them a 1-0 lead in the first half.  However, Jess Savo and Alexis Bandero scored last first half goals to give the Lady Bearcats a 2-1 lead at the half.

Midway through the second half, the Lady Mustangs came back to tie on a goal by Meghan Peterson. Both teams would be scoreless the rest of the half and through a first overtime. In the second 10 minute period, Amanda Bigness scored the game winner for Solvay. They advance to face the three seed Marcellus on Thursday. Mt. Markham finishes the season 11-5-1.
