HAMILTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Hamilton Emerald Knights boys soccer team has been waiting a long time to start defending its Section III and state titles. On Wednesday, they began that quest with a 4-1 win over LaFargeville.
Sam Owens and Blaine Holcomb scored two quick goals in the first half to give the Knights a two goal early lead. Owens also added an assist on the night. Later in the half, Dan Kraynak found the back of the net and later had the assist on the fourth goal to Jake Smith.
Hamilton improves to 13-3-1 and will face the winner of top seed Copenhagen and Belleville Henderson.
