Old Forge, Remsen win, to meet in D-2 final

SAUQUOIT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Both Remsen and Old Forge won their Section III Class D-2 semifinal games Wednesday, which means they will face each other Friday in the final.

In the first game of the night, The Eskimos defeated Brookfield 2-0.  After a scoreless first half, OId Forge scored two goals within a minute of each other, the first by Kevin Kress just over eleven minutes into the second frame.  Shortly after that first goal, Connor Rockhill gave the Eskimos their two goal cushion.

Remsen, the #4 seed in Class D-2, scored the only goal of the second game with just under fifteen minutes to go in the first half.  Kyle Gargas snuck the ball past Faith Heritage keeper Chris Cunningham, after which both collided, as did Casey Corrigan of the Rams.  The 1-0 Remsen win set up an all-Mohawk Valley final.
