H.S. Baseball & Softball: Oriskany dealt double playoff elimination

ORISKANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - It was a tough day for Oriskany high school Saturday as both the baseball and softball teams were eliminated from the sectional playoffs at home. West Canada defeated the Redskins in baseball 11-4, while Cooperstown topped them 3-2 in softball.
The Redskins led West Canada 4-2 in the fourth when the Indians struck for five runs. They added four more in the seventh and Oriskany never responded at the plate.
The Lady Redskins trailed Cooperstown 2-0 before tying the score in the fourth. However the visiting Redskins added one more to get the win.
West Canada will face Cooperstown in the Class C-2 Championship, Monday at DeLutis Field. Cooperstown softball will meet Sandy Creek in the final next Saturday.
