MOHAWK, N.Y. (WKTV) - Just two days after their undefeated season came to an end, the Mohawk boys basketball team got back on track, with a 56-41 win at home against rival, Frankfort. The Mohicans (10-1, 6-1 CSC Div. I) were led by freshman sensation Carson Murphy, who had a double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds). He also had 5 blocks, including one on Frankfort senior Dylan Todd that resulted in smiles and a hug from both players.
Todd had 14 points for the Knights (2-4), while Joe Cooper led the team with 15.
The game was close until the fourth quarter, with Mohawk ahead 12-11 after one, 25-23 at the half, and 36-30 after three. The fourth quarter was the difference, as the Mohicans hit all nine of their free throw attempts, and outscored the Knights 20-11 in the quarter.
