Camden field hockey earns co-TVL title at Whitesboro

MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Camden's field hockey team did everything it needed to do in its regular-season finale on Friday, beating Whitesboro 2-0 to earn a share of the Tri Valley League championship with Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.

Camden (10-2 league, 12-3-1 overall) jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on goals by Sarah Link and Holly Van Dresar then held on behind a suffocating defensive effort anchored by Heidi Deppmeyer's three saves.

Whitesboro (3-7-2 overall) got seven saves from Marissa Vomer.

The sectional playoff seedings will be announced on Sunday.
