MORRISVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Clinton boys soccer team kept their undefeated season alive wtih a 3-0 victory over Oneonta in the Class B regionals Sunday. The game was postponed from Friday after a few inches of snow fell, causing whiteout conditions and the change.
Will Smiegal put the Warriors on the board with just under ten minutes to go in the first half and that held until midway through the second, when Andrew DeBraggio added another Warrior goal. Sam Corrigan added an insurance goal on a penalty kick in the games closing moments. Rob Larkin earned another shutout in the Clinton net, his fourteenth of the season, number 44 for his career and also had six saves.
With the win, Clinton's 38th in their last 39 games, the Warriors, ranked second in the state in Class B, advance to their first ever state final four, next weekend in Middletown. They'll face Wheatley Saturday at 1:30 from Middletown Middle School.
