Frankfort Hands Cooperstown A Second Straight Loss 28-20.FRANKFORT, NY (WKTV) - The Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights topped Cooperstown 28-20 on Friday night. The win improves the Knights record to 5-1, 4-1 in the Class C East. Ron Gatto threw for 186 yards and a touchdown, he also ran for a score on 36 yards rushing. Jordan Lints led the way on the ground with 101 yards. He now has 667 yards on the season. After Frankfort got off to a 14-0 halftime lead on a Gatto score and a Frank Bianchi touchdown, the Redskins Battle back on a Tanner Niedzialkowski score to cut the lead to 14-7 in third quarter. Frankfort came back, Gatto connected on a 4th down play to Dylan Todd for touchdown to give the Knight another cushion lead. Again, Cooperstown battled back. AJ Alton made it 22-13 on a three yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter. The Redskins then tried to capitalize on a Frankfort fumble but three straight tries from the five yard line resulted in no gain. Cooperstown attempted a field goal which was no good. Frankfort then marched 80 yards capped off by a Jamie Barr score. The Redskins added a late touchdown but it was not enough. Cooperstown drops to 3-2 in the league 4-2 overall. Most Popular |
