Cooperstown, Oppenheim-Ephratah Win Section III Volleyball Titles

DEWITT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Cooperstown and Oppenheim-Ephratah won Section III girls volleyball championships Saturday at Jamesville-Dewitt while Dolgeville took undefeated LaFayette to the limit in a tough loss.

Cooperstown (14-5) won the Class C-1 title 3-1 over Frankfort-Schuyler (17-6) in a matchup of the Nos. 4 and 3 seeds while top-seeded Oppenheim-Ephratah (21-2) won the Class D title 3-0 over No. 3 Hamilton (18-6).

In the match of the day, No. 2 seed Dolgeville took top-seeded and undefeated LaFayette to a fifth set in the Class C-2 final but fell 3-2.  LaFayette improves to 23-0 while Dolgeville finishes the season 20-3.
