CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Cooperstown, the #1 ranked team in the Section III Class C-1 girls tournament advanced to their second section final in three years Tuesday, beating Tully 62-57. The Redskins overcame an early deficit to take a 30-28 lead at halfitme and ultimately took control in the fourth quarter.
The Black Knights stayed close until the end, thanks to the inside presence of Jesslyn Doody, who scored a game high 22 points, as well as Jenna Johnson, who added 19.
But the combined Cooperstown effort was the difference. Molly Pearlman had 13 points, while Alexis Bloomfield added 12.
The Redskins advance to the section final Friday night at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, where they'll face IHC at 7:45 p.m.
