UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Facing No. 4-seed Onondaga for the sixth time in eight years in the playoffs, top-seeded Dolgeville finally tamed the two-time defending champion Tigers with a 35-6 blowout in the Section III, Class D semifinals Saturday at D'Alessandro Stadium.

Dolgeville, which had lost the previous five meetings including last year's championship, scored on the opening possession of the game on a 2-yard run by Andrew Johnston, and Clay Ardoin took it from there.  Ardoin rushed for four touchdowns on runs of 79, 82, 13, and 61 yards, finishing with 328 yards on 20 carries.

Defensively, Dolgeville held Onondaga, which was ranked No. 8 in the state in Class D this week, to just 153 total yards.  The Tigers' lone score came in the final minute of the game on a short quarterback sneak.

The Blue Devils, now 9-0 and ranked No. 4 in the state, will face No. 2-seed, No. 3-ranked, and also-undefeated Watertown IHC, which knocked off Notre Dame 15-12, in the championship Friday at the Carrier Dome at 7:30.

Dolgeville has won a Section III-record 14 titles, the last in 2002.
