SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Dolgeville Blue Devils are the Class D Section III champs with the 21-14 win over Watertown IHC. They advance to the regional final next Friday, 5pm at C-NS.

Dolgeville, ranked 4th in the state in Class D, found themsevlves in the hole in the second quarter after two Tom Burgess touchdown passes. However, just five seconds left in the half, Clay Ardoin took a direct snap, rolled out and threw one toward the endzone, Anthony Dykeman came up with the tipped ball for the score. Blue Devils trailed 14-7 at the half.

It stayed that way until two minutes to go in the 4th when Clay Ardoin scored on a one yard touchdown. The Blue Devils went for two and were stopped. Dolgeville then recovered the onside kick and on the very next play, Andrew Johnston took a screen pass 48 yards for the game winning score. He also scored on the two point conversion. Johnston was named the game MVP.

It's the school's 15th Section III title, their first since 2002 and first under head coach Chris Connolly.
