Walton Tops Dolgeville In Class D Regional

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Dolgeville Blue Devils ran into the imovable force known as the Walton Warriors on Friday. Armed with a 23-game winning strreak, Walton made it 24 with a 44-21 win over Dolgeville to win the Class D Regional crown.

Atfter a Walton took a 6-0 lead, Dolgeville's Clay Ardoin scored on a four yard run. The successful extra point made it 7-6 Blue Devils. That lead, however, was short-lived. On the ensuing drive, Walton marched right down and scored on a 69 yard drive capped off by a Bryant Mead touchdown. That made it 14-7 Walton at the half.

Second half was all Warriors. They scored their first four second possessions. They rushed for nearly 400 yards. On the other side of the ball, Dolgeville just couldn't get a running game going. Zack Goyette was forced to throw the ball. He was 10 of 18 for 109 yards and a late score.

Dolgeville finishes their season 10-1 and Class D Section III champions.
