DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. (WTKV) - With a likely conference semifinal matchup against the top-ranked team in Class D on the horizon, Dolgeville took care of business in the Section III Southeast quarterfinals on Saturday with a 37-0 shutout of Morrisville-Eaton.
Indeed, Dolgeville (6-1 overall) will next face undefeated Westmoreland, which demolished West Canada Valley 66-0, in the semifinal round next Saturday at Westmoreland in a battle of defending Section III champions. Dolgeville won the Class D title last year while Westmoreland won the Class C title before dropping down. The gametime is to be announced.
Dolgeville only led 6-0 after the first quarter but broke the game open with 24 points in the second. Quarterback Zach Goyette led the charge with 11-of-14 passing for 133 yards and four touchdowns and rushed five times for 68 yards and another TD. Running back Michael Barnes provided the ground support with 14 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown and also caught a pass for a TD.
