Athlete of the Week: Zach Goyette, Dolgeville football
DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - This week's Athlete of the Week is Zach Goyette from Dolgeville.
The Blue Devils' senior quarterback racked up 192 total yards and five touchdowns in Dolgeville's first-round shutout of Morrisville-Eaton. He did it pretty efficiently, too, completing 11-of-14 passes for 126 yards and four touchdowns and rushing five times for 66 yards and the other score.
Of course, with weapons like Dolgeville has, Goyette says his job a whole lot easier.
"We've got excellent athletes this year. [Chris] Robotham, I think I've thrown a touchdown to him every game, [Alex] Snyder's extremely fast, 4.4-4.3 speed, Michael [Barnes] has got great hands. Everybody's great on this team."
Head coach Chris Connolly says of Goyette, "Maturity-wise, he's grown into a good student-athlete, he's really grown into his role. Lot of responsibility, and he's taken it head-on. Whether it's a sectional game or a league game or a scrimmage, he's really come on strong."
