FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - In the season-opener for both teams, Frankfort-Schuyler ace Jamie Barr overcame six walks by striking out 12 batters in a complete-game 6-3 win over visiting Mohawk on Tuesday.

Barr allowed three runs (one earned), three hits, hit one batter and stranded seven Mohawk runners.  The Mohicans got the tying run to the plate with two outs in the top of the seventh inning, but Barr's final strikeout sealed the victory.

Mohawk scored the first run of the game in the top of the first when Jim Traglia came home on a wild pitch.  Frankfort-Schuyler tied the game the same way in the bottom of the inning when Dylan Todd scored on a John LeClair wild pitch, and a run-scoring error put the Maroon Knights up 2-1.

Frankfort-Schuyler increased its lead to 3-1 on an Andy Talarico RBI single in the second.  Mohawk got back within one in the next inning when Bill LeClair scored on another wild pitch by Barr and got the tying run to third with two outs, but Barr escaped with a strikeout.

The Maroon Knights broke the game open in the sixth inning against Traglia with RBI singles by Talarico and Barr and an RBI double by Nick Larabee, making it 6-2.  Mohawk got one back in the top of the seventh on a throwing error by Barr that scored Ryan Hunt, but the Mohicans would not score again.

LeClair threw four innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and four walks with four strikeouts.
