Sauquoit rallies to beat Frankfort in the Class C-1 playoffs

SAUQUOIT VALLEY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Sauquoit Valley edged Frankfort Schuyler 9-8 in the first round of the C-1 Section III playoffs.  

The Indians took the lead for good in the 5th inning when Jason Bentley delivered a clutch bases loaded double to clear the bases.  The Indians needed the insurance runs scored in the bottom of the 6th inning created by an RBI triple by Andy Citriniti and a RBI single by Mike Lallier.

The Knights answered back with 2 runs in the top of the 7th, but Steve Szakto, who had 12 K’s on the day, stranded a runner at 2nd base will striking out the last batter. Sauquoit will now travel to Watertown IHC for a quarterfinal game on Thursday at 4:30pm.
