UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Section III Class C football regular season came to a close Saturday after just six weeks, with Notre Dame beat Frankfort 14-8 on a return RD by Jordan Chrobak in the closing moments. With the win, the Jugglers improved to 4-2, which should ensure a first round playoff game next weekend.
With four divisions in Class C this year, the top four from each make the playoffs, with the top eight hosting games next weekend.
Although they were upset by Little Falls, Herkimer still won the Class C East title again, which means they will also host a game in the first round, and in the quarterfinals, if they win next weekend.
Frankfort is also 4-2, so they will at least be in the playoffs and might also get a home game, depending on tie breakers. Little Falls, Waterville-Madison and either Mount Markham or Morrisville-Eaton/Hamilton should all be in the postseason picture as well.
