Hamilton advances to semis again

POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Hamilton softball team advanced to the state semifinals for the second straight year after a 27-2 thrashing of Heuvelton in the Class D regionals Tuesday at SUNY Potsdam.  Becca Rogers earned her nineteenth win of the season, pitching a five hitter, striking out nine.  She also had three hits and five RBI.

Katie Weeks had two hits, scored five runs and drove in three more.  Kelby Watkins had three hits and three RBI, while Jess Welsh drove in four runs on a pair of hits.

The Emerald Knights will play at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Adirondack Sports Complex in Queensbury.  If they win their semifinal game, Hamilton will play in the Class D championship at 2.
