H.S. Softball: Hamilton wins, Oneida falls in section finals

LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Hamilton softball team won another Class D Section III title Saturday, beating Alexandria Bay 6-2 in the title game.  It's the eighth section title for the Emerald Knights.  On the very next field at the Hopkins Road Softball Complex, Oneida fell in the Class A final, 5-0 to Jamesville-Dewitt.

Hamilton, ranked second in the state in Class D, improved to 20-1 on the season.  Freshman pitcher Becca Rogers hurled a three hitter, while striking out nine.  Katie Weeks was 2-for-4 with three RBI.

The Emerald Knights, who won their second straight section title, advance to the regionals Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Heuvelton at SUNY Potsdam.
