Marauders advance in Wadas Classic

N.Y. MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The NY Mills boys basketball team kept their undefeated record intact on the first day of the annual Ed Wadas Classic, beating Hamilton 59-25 Wednesday night.  Matt Welch had 23 points on the game, 21 after the first quarter, to lead the Marauders.

The Emerald Knights kept it close in the first quarter, trailing just 13-8, but Mills (7-0) exploded in the second, outscoring their opponents 22-7.

The Marauders advance to the championship game of the tournament against Oriskany, who defeated Poland 62-60 in the other first round game.  The Redskins trailed by one with time running down, until Steve McCorduck hit a three pointer with just five seconds left in the game.

Tip-off for Thursday's championship game is 7:30 p.m.
