Herkimer Boys Work The Boards For Win Over Frankfort-Schuyler

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Herkimer boys basketball team used early runs of 8-0, 7-0 and 6-0 to pull past Frankfort-Schuyler for a 69-58 Center State Conference Division I win on Saturday.

Despite failing to shut down Frankfort-Schuyler's Vinny Reina, who scored a game-high 30 points, the Magicians controlled the game by controlling the rebounding.  The glass effort was led by 6-foot-5 Paul Grubner and 6-foot-7 Jeff Milnar, who each notched double-doubles with 14 points and 16 rebounds and 11 points and 14 rebounds, respectively.  Mike Fahy led Herkimer's scoring with 20 points.

The Magicians have now won two straight games after losing their first three, improving to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in CSC I play.  Frankfort-Schuyler remains winless at 0-4 overall.
