ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - Just six days after opening with 186 rushing yards and two TDs against Little Falls, Jon Treen did it again, gaining 234 yards and scoring four times for Ilion, who defeated rival Herkimer 38-14 Friday night. Treen had 18 carries, for an average of 13 yards a carry. His four scores were from 26, 2, 56 and 40 yards out.
Treen had 104 yards on 10 carries in the first half, though just one of those TDs came in the first 24 minutes. Shea Murphy had a five yard score in the second quarter, as the Golden Bombers took at 16-0 lead at halftime.
But then Treen scored twice in the third quarter, including the 56 yarder. His final TD, the 40 yarder, came in the 4th, sandwiched in between two Herkimer TDs.
Treen now has 420 yards rushing and six touchdowns in the first two games of his senior season.
Ilion improves to 2-0 on the season, and will host Adirondack next Friday.
