Boys Basketball: Parkmound's game winner lifts RFA over HP
ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - In a spectacular finish, the RFA boys basketball team defeated new TVL rival Holland Patent 68-66 Friday night at Strough Middle School, thanks to a game winning shot by Lloyd Parkmound. The senior scored a game high 20 points as the Black Knights improved to 3-1 on the season.
Holland Patent led going into the fourth quarter, but RFA slowly fought their way back, tying it at 64 with just over two minutes left on a basket by Jon Griggs that came off a steal by Aaron Tenant. Griggs scored thirteen points in the game.
The Golden Knights took the lead back when Nick Roberts sank a bucket for two of his 16 points, giving HP a 66-64 lead.
But the Black Knights answered, as Justin Henry scored on a put back after an offensive rebound to tie the game at 66 with 1:17 to go. Henry had 15 points.
HP could've won it at the line, but missed on free throws, giving RFA a chance to win, which they did.
