LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - Mike Battisti threw four touchdown passes and ran for another, as the Little Falls football team won their first game of the season Saturday, 44-27 over Holland Patent. Matt Curtis ran for 248 yards and four scores for the Golden Knights, who fell to 0-3 in 2012.
Curtis got the scoring started in the first quarter, on a six yard touchdown run, giving HP a 7-0 lead. The Mounties struggled to score through most of the first 12 minutes, but finally broke through on a 3rd and 21 from the 30, as Battisti connected with Will Robinson for a touchdown. Holland Patent still led though, as the Mounties two point run failed.
Little Falls took the lead with three seconds left in the quarter, as Battisti found Robinson again, this time from 46 yards out.
Battisti finished with 345 total yards, 222 through the air and 123 on the ground.
Little Falls heads for a Friday night matchup with Ilion next, while HP hosts Frankfort Saturday.
