ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - In a grinder of a game that featured only nine combined passes, Cooperstown blanked Class C East rival Ilion 13-0 Friday for a big season-opening road win.

With no score in the second quarter, Ilion got down to Cooperstown's 10-yard line on a 30-yard run by Jon Treen but failed to score when Jed Rowley sacked Kris Klosner on 4th down.  The Redskins then drove all the way back for a touchdown, scoring on a 2-yard run by quarterback Tyler Hoke.

Tanner Niedzialkowski scored the other touchdown for Cooperstown on a 1-yard run in the third quarter.

Klosner finished the game 1-for-6 passing for six yards while Hoke was 0-for-3.
