Boys Basketball: Big second half lifts Mohawk over Ilion

MOHAWK, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Mohawk boys basketball team has been struggling to find an identity this season, but on Thursday they discovered how well they can play in a 62-48 win over valley rival Ilion. Carson Murphy was the Mohicans star, scoring 28 points, grabbing ten rebounds, blocking three shots and stealing two passes.
Corbin Woodruff also added 14 points, 13 rebounds and three steals while igniting Mohawk (4-5) in the third quarter after his team trailed 25-21 at the break.
Murphy dominated the fourth quarter, as the Mohicans outscored Ilion 25-14.
Herschel Ivey led the Golden Bombers (5-6) with 16 points.
