HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Austin Mills had a hand in every score for the Magicians en route to a 26-8 win over Ilion on Friday. The Class C East victory could very well be the last time the two schools play against each other if they merge with Mohawk next year.
Mills rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns. He threw for a 25 yard score to Eric Johnson and he picked up a fumble and ran 51 yards for a touchdown. Matt Borek also rushed for 90 yards on 14 carries for the Magicians, who improved to 2-0.
Ilion, who dropped to 0-2, was led by Travis Mead's one touchdown. Mykel Farley was injured late in the game. No word on the extent of his injuries.
The Golden Bombers travel to Mohawk next week while Herkimer makes the short drive to Frankfort. Both games kick off at 7 p.m.
