LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Little Falls girls basketball team had little trouble with West Canada Valley, beating the Lady Indians 50-18 Thursday night. The Lady Mounties let up just 5 points in the first half, on just one field goal, a first quarter three pointer by Alexis Fauville, that made the score 4-3 Little Falls.
But the Lady Mounties stepped up the offense after that, led by Sophomore Jenna Becker's 14 points, along with Jordan Mitchell's 11. In fact, it was a steal and lay-up by Mitchell that allowed Little Falls to begin to pull away in the first. The Lady Mounties led 17-3 at the end of the quarter.
The second quarter only got worse for West Canada Valley, whose only offense was a pair of free throws. Little Falls led 28-5 at the break. Olivia Tooley added 10 points off the bench for the Lady Mounties.
The Lady Indians improved to 2-0 on the season, and will be off until Tuesday, when they host Adirondack. West Canada Valley, who fell to 0-2 with the loss to Little Falls, is off until Wednesday, when they travel to Dolgeville.
