SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Little Falls and Notre Dame girls basketball team both won section titles Friday night at the Carrier Dome.
The undefeated Lady Mounties, the top seed in Class C, beat Fabius-Pompey 59-38, their second title in three years and fourth since 2007. LF (22-0) went on a 13-0 run to start the game and never looked back. Gen Schoff led the way with 30 points, while Kelli Shephardson added 11.
Sarah Bruins, a Mountie senior that's been battling Hodgkins-lymphoma, was in the starting lineup in what will likely be her last game. She's scheduled for chemotherapy on Wednesday.
In the second section final of the night at the Dome, Notre Dame repeated as Class B champions, beating Westhill 46-39. It's the third title in five years for the Lady Jugglers, who won the Class C title in 2010.
Emily Durr led ND with 23 points and 12 rebounds, though she was hampered in the fourth quarter by a leg injury.
