NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Playing at home for the first time in more than a year due to a turf field being installed, New Hartford made it worth the wait as it stayed undefeated with a 47-26 win over Class A National rival Carthage.

Quarterback Anthony Acevedo broke 200 yards rushing with five touchdowns for the second straight week, finishing with 223 yards on 20 carries.  Joe Carcone added 127 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries as the Spartans came back from an early 7-0 deficit to lead 28-14 at the half and never looked back.

New Hartford is now tied with Whitesboro for first place in the division at 2-0 (3-0 overall) while Carthage drops a half-game behind at 2-1 (league and overall).

Prior to the game, New Hartford re-dedicated Don Edick field with Edick, the Spartans' former head coach and WKTV's high school football analyst, on hand.  Edick was named an honorary captain for the game.
