Chanatry outduels Flynn as NH stays perfect


WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New Hartford baseball team kept their perfect record intact Friday, beating rival Whitesboro 1-0.  It was a pitchers duel as Mark Chanatry had a one-hit shutout for the Spartans, striking out six.  His opposite number, Kevin Flynn, also went the distance, giving up just one run on two hits, while fanning five.

Ben Phelps scored the only run of the game, stealing home in the fifth inning.  Phelps, Cooper Deck and Matt Parkinson of Whitesboro had the only hits of the game.

With the win, New Hartford improves to 8-0 on the season and will face V-V-S Saturday at Murnane Field in the Stop DWI Classic.  Whitesboro falls to 5-3 on the year.
