By MIKE LEVIN

WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV)  - The Whitesboro boys basketball team dealt rival New Hartford their only league loss of the season, 62-58, in the regular season final for both teams Thursday.  The Spartans had already locked up the TVL title, after a 65-46 win over VVS Tuesday.

The Warriors used a second quarter run to jump out to a 33-19 lead at halftime.  What started as a 9-0 run for Whitesboro extended to 14-4 at one point.  The Spartans fought back and cut the lead to as little as two in the fourth quarter, but couldn't get any closer.

Dylan Gorski and Bradee Holtslag each chipped in 14 points for the Warriors, while Ryan Watson added 13.  All three were honored before the game along with the rest of their fellow seniors.  Gorski and Holstlag each hit four three point field goals.

New Hartford's Robert Broccoli led all scorers with 17, while Derek German added 16.  With the loss, the Spartans fall to 14-4 on the year, 13-1 in the TVL.

Whitesboro finishes the regular season with an overall record of 14-3, 11-2 in the league.

Both teams will await their playoff future, as the basketball brackets are set to be announced on Sunday.  Be sure to log onto WKTV.com for the bracket info for both girls and boys.
