NY Mills heading back to the final with a win over Poland


UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The unbeaten NY Mills boys are one step away from winning their third straight Class D Section III title after a 73-30 semifinal win over Poland on Wednesday.

The Marauders came out firing on all cylinders with a 15-6 run. They led by 10 after the first quarter. However, in the second quarter, they used a 17-3 run to put the game out of reach.

Junior center Matt Welch led all scorers with 19 points and 12 rebounds while senior forward Fred Russ added 16 points and 12 rebounds. JT Ross scored a career high 14 points in the win.

Mills will now face Lyme in the Class D final on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. at the Aud.
