NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - Who would've thought that after five weeks, the West Canada Valley football team would be in first place in Class D East, but that's where they are, after a 38-14 win Saturday over N.Y. Mills. With Dolgeville upset 13-0 at home to Sauquoit, the Indians (5-0) are by themselves atop the league standings.
On Saturday, former NEWSChannel 2 Athlete of the Week, Jack Minasi, submitted another outstanding effort, rushing for 250 yards and five more touchdowns.
The Indians will travel to Beaver River next Saturday, then will host Dolgeville for a special Friday night game October 12th.
Mills has yet to record a win in 2012, and has two more chances in the regular season, next Saturday at Dolgeville and October 12th at Mohawk.
