Oppenheim Boys Tops Remsen 46-42

REMSEN, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oppenheim-Ephratah Hawks beat Remsen 46-42 on Thursday night. Mo Conte led the way with 23 points.

The matchup was similar to the last meeting between the two teams, a matchup won by the Hawks 50-49. The game was tied at 11 after the first quarter and the Hawks led 23-21 at the half. Remsen battled all second half tying the game at 31 after three quarters. The Hawks retook the lead in the fourth. Remsen got as close as two points with a minute to go, but that is as close as they could get.

Terry Randall chipped in 11 points for the Hawks who improved to 17-3. Remsen was led by Spencer Ballard who scored 19 points, 18 rebounds and 6 blocks. The Rams are now 11-8 and will host NY Mills on Saturday. If Remsen beats the Maruaders, Oppenheim and NY Mills will be Division IV co-champs. If NY Mills wins, they win the league outright.
