ORISKANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Dolgeville Blue Devils stayed perfect on the season Saturday, defeating Oriskany 33-6 in Class D East action. The win keeps Dolgeville in first place, tied with Westmoreland, who won 39-6 at Cooperstown.
Dolgeville took a 7-0 lead on Oriskany in the first 90 seconds, after returning an interception for a touchdown. But both defenses took over from that point until the end of the first half, when both offenses scored.
With less than a minute to go, Austin Smith threw a touchdown pass to Anthony Pickard. A missed extra point kept the lead with the Blue Devils, who immediately responded.
Jake Darling threw a 26 yard touchdown pass to Ray Ruggerio with just twenty seconds left until the break, giving Dolgeville a 14-6 lead.
Dolgeville (4-0) will host Cooperstown next Saturday while Oriskany (1-3) will host West Canada.
