NY MIlls beats Poland, wins league title


NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The NY Mills Marauders topped Poland 69-43 to win their second straight CSC Division IV title. At 17-0, the Marauders are poised to finish the regular season unbeaten on Thursday if they can defeat Remsen.

Both teams started a little sluggish with the Maruaders leading by just six points after the first quarter. Mills then outscored the Tornados 20-6 in the second quarter to lead 38-18 at the half. A 12-2 run in the third quarter sealed the deal for the Maruaders, who improved to 11-0 in the league. Edgardo Colon led the way with 13 points while Matt Welch added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Justin Weakley had 15 points for Poland, who finished the regular season 10-8, 8-3 in the league.
