UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - After cutting a 21-point deficit down to seven, Proctor lost a fumble inside the Auburn 20-yard line in the final minute to end its hopes of a comeback in a 42-35 loss.

The Raiders lost quarterback Will Hawkins to a shoulder injury late in the first quarter, trailed 26-7 at halftime and 34-14 in the third, but got within 42-35 in the fourth on a 55-yard touchdown catch by Richard Pete.  Proctor was poised to complete the comeback when it marched down the field and Brad Jones connected with Joseph Fiore in the red zone with just under a minute to play, but Fiore had the ball ripped out of his grasp as he was tackled and Auburn recovered at its 16-yard line to seal the victory.

Ismail Brooks was the catalyst for Auburn's offense with three first-half touchdowns on runs of 48, 7 and 64 yards.  Pete also added a 77-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to start the comeback attempt after the Maroons went up 34-14 in the third.

Proctor is now 0-2 in Class AA-2 and 1-3 overall.  Auburn improves to 2-0 (3-1).
