ND, Proctor set for Juggler Classic showdown

By MIKE LEVIN

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Notre Dame and Proctor girls basketball teams are headed for a Sunday showdown at SUNYIT after each came back from deficits to win their first round games at the Juggler Classic on Saturday.  Proctor went on an 18-0 run in the fourth quarter to beat Liverpool 67-64.

Raiders senior Brianna Kiesel, headed for Pittsburgh in the fall, led the charge, scoring 22 of her 40 points in the final quarter.  Proctor trailed 51-37 with seven minutes left, but finished an amazing run thanks to Kiesel, as well as Sarina Olds, who scored seven of her nine points in the final quarter.

Hosts Notre Dame also got off to a slow start, trailing West Genesee 19-9 after the first quarter.  But the Lady Jugglers gave up just 26 points in the final three quarters.  Freshman Emily Durr scored 19 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Jordan Morgan added 14 for Notre Dame.

Sunday's Juggler Classic championship game is scheduled to tip-off at 2:45 p.m.
